1st Annual
Minority Health Month
At Future Black Leaders, we believe that true empowerment begins with health—mental, physical, and financial. That’s why each April, we uplift Minority Health Month with impactful programming that centers community wellness, education, and self-care.
This year, our IU College Ambassadors brought this vision to life with a dynamic, student-led event that placed wellness front and center. Held on campus, the event offered a holistic approach to health through curated experiences focused on healing, knowledge, and empowerment.
🌱 What We Did:
Financial Wellness Session led by @cb.dexterr, where students learned practical strategies to build financial freedom and shift their money mindset.
Yoga & Mindfulness Flow with wellness advocate Ashley Akin, offering participants a calming, grounding experience to reconnect with themselves.
Free Custom Açaí Bowls courtesy of Everbowl, fueling the community with nutritious, energizing snacks.
Giveaways and Resources promoting long-term well-being and access to tools for success.
Whether it was finding peace on the mat or clarity through money management, this event provided an empowering space for students to prioritize their well-being and build sustainable habits.
We’re proud of our ambassadors for organizing such a meaningful experience that reflects our mission to uplift Black futures through education, leadership, and holistic wellness.
