❋ Promoting Joy & Passion

Raymond Jumper was a Ray of Sunshine to everyone person he met and in every space he entered. We are looking for applicants who embody this same spirit.

❋ Celebrating Resilience 

This scholarship was made in mind for people who had Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). If you ever suffered from loss, instability, or any other obstacles while growing up, we strongly encourage you to apply for our scholarship.

❋ Pouring into Community

All applicants are asked to think of a way they could positively impact their community (back at home or at their university) and develop a Ray of Sunshine Community Project. Each scholarship recipient will be tasked with implementing their project and reflect on their progress at the end of the school year.

❋ Ensuring Equity and Access

Some people face obstacles that could prevent them from going to college. It is our hope that the Ray of Sunshine scholarship can help alleviate some of the financial burden of pursuing education.

Overview

  • Applicants must demonstrate that one or more of the following applies to them:

    Applicant Eligibility:

    • Identify as a marginalized group which has faced systemic inequities

    • Be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student.

    • Demonstrate a history of resilience in the face of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or significant life hurdles

    • Maintain a commitment to community service and leadership.

  • Ask for contact information, academic rank, and demographic information. This section will be used to determine whether or not applicants are eligible to receive the Ray of Sunshine Scholarship

  • Applicants are required to select two prompts and answer each in 400-600 words

  • Ray of Sunshine scholars. are expected to complete a community project by the end of their first year of receiving the scholarship. Applicants are required to submit a plan of what their project would be. Submissions may take the form of a written essay, a video, or a creative showcase.

  • Applications are due on July 1, 2026. Winners will be notified by August 1st.
