Juneteenth Jubilee
The Second Juneteenth Jubilee, held at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater in Fishers, Indiana, was a resounding success, building on the momentum of the inaugural celebration. Hosted from 6 to 9 p.m., the event expanded its offerings, welcoming an even larger crowd to celebrate Juneteenth, honor African American culture, and continue the important conversations around equity and freedom.
History of the Juneteenth Jubilee in Fishers, Indiana
Organized once again by Fishers Equity Awareness, a group of recent alumni from Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School, the second Jubilee was a vibrant showcase of community spirit and diversity. The event saw a significant growth in the number of vendors, including a strong presence of Black-owned businesses, offering a unique opportunity for attendees to support local entrepreneurs while learning about their products and services.
In addition to the marketplace, the event featured live music performances that brought energy and excitement to the evening, as well as educational booths that provided valuable insights into the history and significance of Juneteenth. These booths were designed to engage attendees in discussions on the ongoing journey for freedom and equity, creating a space for learning and reflection.
