The Third Juneteenth Jubilee, held at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater in Fishers, Indiana, was a memorable continuation of the event’s legacy. Hosted from 6 to 9 p.m., the Jubilee expanded its offerings, drawing an even larger crowd to celebrate Juneteenth, honor African American culture, and engage in important conversations about equity and freedom.
History of the Juneteenth Jubilee in Fishers, Indiana
In its third year, the Juneteenth Jubilee in Fishers, Indiana, took on a new chapter as Fishers High School’s Future Black Leaders stepped in to continue the legacy of the event. After alumni from Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern High School were no longer able to maintain the event, the Future Black Leaders club at Fishers High School took on the responsibility of planning and organizing the Jubilee. This ensured that the event remained a vibrant celebration of Juneteenth and continued its mission of fostering unity, education, and cultural pride.
Held at the Nickel Plate Amphitheater once again, the Third Juneteenth Jubilee upheld its tradition of featuring Black-owned vendors, showcasing a diverse range of local businesses. These vendors offered a variety of products and services, giving attendees the opportunity to support and celebrate Black entrepreneurship in the community.
The Third Juneteenth Jubilee marked a pivotal moment in the event’s history, ensuring its continuation as a cherished tradition in Fishers while inspiring the next generation to carry the torch forward.
